Cozy and Easy!

I wasn't sure what to expect from the University Inn -- staying in Atlanta for 11 nights, it was the only place that seemed close to Emory and had a longstay option. I booked a room in the Oxford House at a very reasonable $54/night, and figured at that price, I probably wasn't going to get much more than a bed and a toilet.
Boy was I wrong! This hotel is cosy, and set me up with a mini-apartment with a fridge and a microwave/sink and a TV. The room was sparsely decorated, but very utilitarian and comfortable and felt like a little home.
It's really the service from the lobby that turned a utilitarian experience into something more special. In the mornings, they have a fantastic free breakfast with cocoa and coffee and tea and bagels and yogurt and juice and cereal -- a fantastic array! Staff is extremely friendly, and I spent many an hour sitting by the roaring fireplace. In the evenings, they offered glasses of wine, or beer (free), and what tasted like freshly-made cookies. A wonderfully comfortable time!
There are some little flaws in the perfect hotel experience. Atlanta experienced a serious cold front when I'd arrived, and my room was FREEZING. It took them about a day and a half to find a space heater, so for the first night I slept with a hat and sweater on!
They'd also forgotten to put towels in my room, or tell me that I had to put my dirty linens outside my door on Friday or Monday to get clean ones -- With a long stay, too, it'd be nice if they took out the trash, or gave me a sponge to wash dishes with the dish soap they provided.
The in-room internet was also EXTREMELY inconsistent. I ended up just using it in the lobby, and I know it's something they're working on, but it *was* frustrating.
Overall, SUCH an easy walk to Emory Village and the Emory campus especially. Such a cozy experience, too. Felt like more of a home than a hotel! Would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
