When you come to Atlanta, you can expect to find a host of fun and enriching experiences. Whether you’re visiting for business or pleasure, there are always special events and festivals going on only minutes from your Atlanta hotel. Here are some upcoming events to check out on your next stay:
- Film Festivals
The Atlanta Jewish Film festival is a tradition in its 12th year, and will feature 70 films throughout the month of February. The films featured include documentaries, new narratives, and an anniversary series, in which favorites like Dirty Dancing will return to the big screen.
- Museum Exhibitions
The Michael C. Carlos Museum on Emory’s campus is currently hosting an exhibition titled “Mandala: Sacred Circle in Tibetan Buddhism” which runs through April 15. The show features art in which the circular shape represents a state of enlightenment. Special events and lectures will be going on throughout the exhibition’s run.
- Cultural Events
The Roswell Roots Festival features a series of events celebrating Black History Month. The McIntosh County Shouters will be performing call-and-response song and dance. The Unity Concert and Reception will bring together local choirs and spoken word artists. Other events include a poetry slam and a cornbread cook-off.
- Historical Exhibits
The Fernbank Museum of Natural History opens a special exhibit this week called “Wildlife Rescue.” The exhibit is interactive, so children and adults can all learn the importance of protecting wildlife from human disasters like oil spills.
